How to set CAPTURE.AUDIO quickly:
When you have booked a CAPTURE.AUDIO enabled session and arrive at the studio, you need to:
- Connect to the PIRATE WiFi
- Click on the CAPTURE SMS link you received or log in and access from your booking
- Check you have the right level coming through and hit Record.
I DIDN’T RECEIVE THE SMS
You should receive the SMS 10 minutes before your booking, but sometimes this doesn't happen due to poor signal or an incorrect phone number. No worries! You can find the link to OPEN CAPTURE.AUDIO in My Bookings. Go to My Bookings and select your current booking. On the booking details page there should be a 'OPEN CAPTURE.AUDIO' button which will open up the recording screen. If there isn't one, it means the room you booked hasn't got CAPTURE.AUDIO.
This should allow you to record your session, but if you have any further issues contact support. Also, make sure to check and update your phone number, if it isn't correct.
I'M SEEING A 'DISCONNECTED FROM PIRATE WIFI' ERROR
This error appears when you open CAPTURE.AUDIO and either aren't connected to WiFi or your Apple device's privacy settings block you from connecting to CAPTURE over WiFi.
1 - Check that you're connected to the PIRATE WiFi
CAPTURE.AUDIO requires you to be connected to our WIFI network to start and stop your recordings. Ensure you're connected to the 'PIRATE WiFi' network only. It's free and doesn't require a password.
2 - If you're on an iPhone/iPad/Mac, disable "iCloud Private Relay"
If you've connected to WiFi but are still getting this error, it could be that our service is being blocked by Apple's iCloud Private Relay. Turning it off for your session should resolve the issue:
- iPhone / iPad: you can turn off iCloud Private Relay in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Private Relay
- Mac: choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click your Apple ID. Select iCloud > Private Relay.
NO BOOKING FOUND
If you have followed the SMS link but received a “No booking found” error - are you connected to the Pirate network? If so, you've probably clicked on an out of date SMS link or the link is incomplete. You can simply fix that by trying the link in My Bookings.
Some phones don’t recognise special characters in the URL we send, so go to My Bookings, open the booking and try the OPEN CAPTURE.AUDIO button.
