🎧 PIRATE Capture Guide: App vs Web-Based Audio Recording
At PIRATE, we offer two different Capture products to help DJs record their sessions:

CAPTURE is an iPhone app that lets you record high-quality audio synced with video captured by your phone—ideal for sharing your DJ sets.

📲 How to Use the CAPTURE App

Install & Set Up

Download the CAPTURE App from the App Store.

Log in using your Pirate Account.

Grant all permissions:

Camera

Microphone
-
Photo Library (Pirate has no access to your personal photos)

Connect to the Studio

Your app should auto-connect when your booking starts (look for a green "Connected" message).

If it doesn’t:

Tap "Connect to Studio #"

Swipe down on the Bookings tab to refresh

Recording Your Set

Ensure you're connected to PIRATE WiFi

Keep your phone unlocked and the app open

Enable Do Not Disturb to prevent interruptions

After recording, stay connected until download completes (you can move to the communal area)

🔇 No Audio Detected

Usually caused by audio cables being unplugged from REC OUT on the mixer

Make sure they’re properly connected
📴 System Offline

Exit and reopen the app

If that fails:

CAPTURE.AUDIO is a browser-based recording feature available in selected DJ rooms. It captures audio only—no video.

You'll receive a recording link via SMS

Q: Can I use CAPTURE on Android?
A: No, it’s currently iOS only.
Q: Why isn’t my booking showing in the app?
A: Swipe down on the Bookings tab to refresh.
Q: My app doesn’t show “Connected.” What should I do?
A: Tap “Connect to Studio #” manually. Ensure you're on Pirate WiFi.
Q: What happens if I leave the app or my phone locks?
A: The recording may fail to complete. Keep your phone unlocked and app open until download is finished.
Q: Why can’t I find my recordings in my Pirate Profile?
A: CAPTURE App recordings are stored within the app itself, not in your online profile.
Q: Can I leave the studio while it downloads?
A: Yes—just move to the communal area with WiFi and keep the app open.
Q: Can I retrieve a recording if my phone dies?
A: Unfortunately, no. Recordings are lost if your phone dies before completing the download.

Q: Do I need an app for CAPTURE.AUDIO?
A: Nope! It’s fully web-based and works through your Pirate account.
Q: How do I know if a room has CAPTURE.AUDIO?

Q: How do I start recording?
A: Either:
