How to do a DIY Setup
As always, the only gear we offer is shown on each room description. Specifically, a Rehearsal room, will come with guitar and bass amps, a drum kit (cymbals available only in Rehearsal PRO and LITE rooms) and the PA. However, We won't be able to provide recording mics or extra cables or stands.
You will be required to bring all these extra items yourself as we don't stock extras anymore.
Here is a list of suggested items you could bring with you to record in a Rehearsal room:
- your mics, XLRs and mic stands. A minimal but effective set up could be - 3 mics on the drum kit (overhead, kick and snare mics) + 1 mic for each amp and connecting our own vocal ones already in the room
- your audio interface, with enough channels and ports for the mics above
- your laptop with your recording software (DAW)
- your headphones if necessary and an headphone amp
What if I want to record a band in a Recording room instead?
Recording Rooms and Band Recording
Our Recording rooms typically aren't large enough for a full band — they range from 65 to 175 sq. ft. and usually include a small control room with a separate mic booth.
That said, if a small band can fit and you bring all necessary extras yourself (we only provide what's listed on the room description), you're welcome to record there.
Looking for more space?
If you're based in London or Manchester, these rooms offer a large live room with a separate control room, better suited to full bands:
- Room 20, Earlsfield — works like a standard studio setup
- Room 9, Cheetham Hill — slightly different setup (more info here)
